Dear Katz Center community,

During the present public health challenge posed by the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), the Katz Center needs to follow guidelines established by the University of Pennsylvania. This includes cancelling all public programs for the remainder of the semester, as well as our annual Meyerhoff Lecture. We are hoping to reschedule many of these events for another time in the future, so please stay tuned.

The Katz Center remains committed to the core mission of advancing research, and we will continue to support our fellows in their scholarship by convening our seminars in a restricted manner, limited to fellows and affiliated scholars only.

One of the unfortunate consequences of this situation is that it is isolating people from each other by imposing social distancing. For as long as this crisis lasts, we will do our best to stay in touch through our social media channels, and hope and plan to become operational again by the summer.

In the meantime, books can be great companions in a difficult moment like the present. If you need suggestions for something to read, please feel welcome to contact me (wsteve@upenn.edu).

Wishing all of our fellows—past and present and around the world—good health.

With best wishes,
