Students at Penn are served by the Jewish Studies Program, located on the Penn campus, that brings together faculty from a range of departments to offer courses and student-related opportunities. The Katz Center is proud to work closely with the JSP to enrich the academic environment for Penn students by collaborating on public programs and arranging for Katz fellows to teach and give campus talks.
The Katz Center also supplements the JSP’s efforts with several programs meant to benefit students within and beyond Penn. Working with the Hebrew University, and with support from Garry and Kathy Fields-Rayant, the Center offers an annual international summer school for graduate students in Jewish studies that alternates between Philadelphia and Jerusalem. Doctoral students pursuing research on a given theme may also become involved in fellowship years as affiliates. For undergraduates, the Center offers occasional internship opportunities.
Students wishing to learn more about the Katz Center should contact the director to discuss how to become involved.
