Ofer Ashkenazi

Hebrew University of Jerusalem

Ofer Ashkenazi is a professor of history as well as director of the Richard Koebner-Minerva Center for German History, both at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. His current focus is on the photography of the home between the years 1928 and 1938. Based on archival work completed in Germany, Israel, and the United States, his research seeks to shed light on otherwise unuttered, or under-examined, perceptions of Jewish domestic experiences under Nazism.

Ashkenazi received his PhD from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. He has taught at the University of Minnesota, UC Berkeley, UC Davis, and the Technical University of Berlin.
