Bio
Aviad Moreno focuses his research on Jews in the Middle East and North Africa, primarily in Morocco. He has taught courses on the Arab-Israeli conflict, Middle East history from Muhammed to the Ottoman Empire, and the Jewish minority in Morocco.
Moreno completed his PhD at Ben Gurion University, where he earned the Ben Halpern Award for Best Dissertation in Israel Studies. He has since held post-doctoral fellowships in the Department of Jewish History at Tel Aviv University and at the Frankel Institute for Advanced Judaic Studies at the University of Michigan.
