Bio
Cecile E. Kuznitz is associate professor of history and director of Jewish studies at Bard College as well as senior academic advisor at the Max Weinreich Center, YIVO Institute for Jewish Research. She studies modern Jewish history, medieval Jewish history, Polish history, American immigration and urban history. While at the Katz Center, she will examine new patterns of residence and forms of domestic architecture that emerged in Eastern Europe and the US in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries.
Kuznitz received her PhD from Stanford University. She has previously held fellowships at YIVO, the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum, and the Oxford Centre for Hebrew and Jewish Studies.
