Bio
Yossef Schwartz is Senior Lecturer and Head of the Cohn Institute for the History and Philosophy of Science and Ideas at Tel Aviv University. He studies European philosophy, science, and culture in the Middle Ages. His publications include “Three Rings or Three Cheats: Revealed Religion and Pluralism between the Middle Ages and the Enlightenment” (2001), and “The Esoteric and Inter-Religious Aspects of the Relation Philosophy/Kabbalah in Late Medieval and Early Modern Europe” (2008). At the Center, Schwartz studies the social framework of thirteenth-century Latin-to-Hebrew translation movements.
