Mothers and Childcare in the Medieval Crown of Aragon and Kingdom of Majorca

Bio

Rebecca L. Winer is Associate Professor of History at Villanova University. Her research interests include interreligious relations, gender, and family history in medieval Iberia. She authored Women, Wealth, and Community in Perpignan c.1250–1300: Christians, Jews, and Enslaved Muslims in a Medieval Mediterranean Town (2006), and “Conscripting the Breast: Lactation, Slavery and Salvation in the Realms of Aragon and Kingdom of Majorca, c. 1250–1300” (2008). This year, Winer studies mothers and childcare in the medieval Crown of Aragon and Kingdom of Majorca.
