Influence of the French Tosafists on the German Pietists

Bio

Avraham (Rami) Reiner is Senior Lecturer in the Department of Jewish Thought at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev. He is an expert on medieval Jewish legal texts and his publications include “From Rabbenu Tam to R. Isaac of Vienna: The Hegemony of the French Talmudic School in the Twelfth Century” (2004); and “The Status of the Proselyte in France and Ashkenaz in the Middle Ages” (2011). In the spring, Reiner will research the influence of the French Tosafists on the German Pietists.
