Marci Seder

Marci Seder is the Center’s academic programs coordinator. She was most recently a local coordinator for the largest au pair agency in the United States. Marci has a B.S. in Food Science from the University of Maryland, College Park and an M.S. in the Science of Instruction from Drexel University.

Kathryn Maxwell

Kathryn Maxwell is the Design and Communications Coordinator at the Katz Center for Advanced Judaic Studies. She holds a B.A. in Art from Gordon College. An enthusiastic if inconsistent baker, she wrote the culinary history series, What’s Cooking at the Library Company during her time as the visitor services and design coordinator at the Library Company of Philadelphia.

Adrienne Atkins

Adrienne Atkins is the journal manager for the Jewish Quarterly Review and supports publications broadly at the Katz Center. She earned her Ph.D. in Classical Studies from Penn, and she also serves as the managing editor of the Bryn Mawr Classical Review.

Ray Coyne

Ray Coyne is the building administrator at the Katz Center. They graduated from the University of Delaware with a B.A. in Public Policy and Communications.

Dajana Denes Walters

Dajana Denes Walters oversees strategic event planning and execution at the Katz Center. She is originally from Poland, where she earned her M.A. in Journalism and Social Communication. As a cinephile, she has been involved in a number of local film organizations, including the Gershman Philadelphia Jewish Film Festival and the Tri-Co Film Festival.   

Brian Lipscomb

Brian Lipscomb is our resident IT specialist, bringing over thirty years of experience to his job, with a specialization in programming. A native of Philadelphia, Brian is an avid reader, and loves cake.

David B. Ruderman

David B. Ruderman is the Ella Darivoff Director Emeritus of the Katz Center and the Joseph Meyerhoff Professor Emeritus of Modern Jewish History in the Department of History at the University of Pennsylvania.

Arthur Kiron

Arthur Kiron is the Schottenstein-Jesselson Curator of Judaica Collections at the University of Pennsylvania Libraries and an adjunct assistant professor in Penn’s History Department. He manages and develops the Judaic collections throughout the Penn Libraries system and supervises the Library at the Katz Center. In addition, he oversees the Penn Libraries’ Judaica programs of education and outreach, such as exhibits, concerts, workshops, as well as national and international partnerships to digitize significant collections of Judaica.

Natalie B. Dohrmann

Natalie Dohrmann is the associate director of the Katz Center, and editor of the Jewish Quarterly Review.

She is adjunct Associate Professor of Religious Studies and also teaches in the departments of History, Classics, and Middle Eastern Languages and Cultures, and is faculty of the Jewish Studies Program at the University of Pennsylvania. She has published widely on rabbinic legal and literary culture in the Roman East. She earned her Ph.D. from the University of Chicago.
