Gabbay

Cynthia Gabbay is a researcher of Latin American and Jewish studies at the Institute of Cultural History and Theory, Humboldt University of Berlin, where she works on her German Research Foundation-funded project, The Jewish Library in Argentina. In this context, she founded the Network for the Study of Jewish Translation and Multilingualism. She is also writing her Habilitation to Supervise Research at the Rémélice Laboratory, University of Orléans, France. Gabbay is a multilingual poet and translator of Jewish and Romance languages. Gabbay coedits the journal, Lingua Franca: The History of the Book in Translation (SHARP). She coordinates Simania: Salon Readings as part of her role on the administrative board of the Latin American Jewish Studies Association (LAJSA), where she serves as editor-in-chief of research in the Latin American Jewish Studies Series (De Gruyter Publishers).

Gabbay received her Ph.D. from The Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
